What is Steel City Woodstock?
Steel City Woodstock is an annual AA step-speaker weekend conference held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Around 1,500 people attend each year to hear speakers from across the country share on the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous over three days.
What is a step-speaker conference?
A step-speaker conference is a recovery event where each session is a talk on one or more of the Twelve Steps, given by a speaker who works through that step from their own experience. Steel City Woodstock covers all twelve across the weekend, in order, from Friday evening to Sunday morning.
What happens over the weekend?
The conference opens on Friday afternoon with registration, followed by an evening speaker and a talk on AA history. Saturday works through Steps 1 to 9 across four sessions with breaks for lunch and dinner, and closes with the Saturday night speaker. Sunday morning covers Steps 10, 11 and 12.
Is Steel City Woodstock self-supporting?
Steel City Woodstock is entirely self-supporting through registration fees and donations, in keeping with the Seventh Tradition. Those contributions are what bring speakers in from out of state and keep registration affordable.
